Kevin Doherty
Kevin Doherty was born November 6, 1958 in Toronto, Ontario. In 1979 he won the silver medal at the Pan American Games in the lightweight division (– 71 kg). He also won the bronze medal at the 1981 World Championships in the Half Middleweight division (78 kg). Afterwards he went on to represent Canada at two consecutive Summer Olympics: 1984 and 1988. He is still considered one of the most technically proficient judokas that Canada has ever had. He was inducted into the Judo Canada Hall of Fame in 1996. Currently he is the head coach of the Ajax Budokan Judo Club and he is a former Vice President in Judo Canada |
